How Vezpa was born
It all started 8 years ago, when Laura and I opened our B&B. At the same time, I continued working as a receptionist in various hotels — it is my main job — interacting every day with all departments: housekeeping, maintenance, management, booking.
This dual experience gave me a complete view of the industry. On one side, the needs of small properties; on the other, the workflows of larger hotels. And one common problem: the existing software just did not work the way it should.
Too complicated, too expensive, or designed by people who have never done a check-in at 2 AM with a tired guest and a system that will not respond.
We tried several management systems for our B&B. Some required weeks of training. Others cost as much as rent. Still others promised integrations that simply did not work.
Then 2020 came along. COVID brought everything to a halt. Bookings dropped to zero, the B&B sat empty, and uncertainty was everywhere. Many colleagues lost heart — and I completely understand that.
I made a different choice: instead of giving up, I used that forced downtime to build the management system I had always dreamed of. Nights spent coding, testing, rethinking every feature based on what someone running a property truly needs.
From a crisis that brought the industry to its knees, a tool was born to help it get back on its feet.
Today Vezpa is the tool we use every day to manage our own B&B. And we make it available to all property managers who, like us, are looking for something simple, effective and honest.
